March 15, 2013: Yunnan South Asia Elevator Co., Ltd. was officially established, with a registered capital of 50.01 million yuan. The company is headquartered in the Zhejiang Merchant Technology Industrial Park, Yanglin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Songming County, Kunming City.
June 2019: The company invested in the construction of an elevator manufacturing plant spanning 42,000 square meters, featuring facilities such as workshops, dormitory buildings, and an elevator test tower. At the same time, the company launched a project to establish an annual production line capable of manufacturing 1,500 elevators.
October 2020: The project to build a production line capable of manufacturing 1,500 elevators annually has received its construction project planning permit. The project will be developed in two phases: Phase one will include factory buildings and shift-worker dormitories, while Phase two will encompass a research and development building, landscaping, and other amenities.
2022: The factory officially began construction, introducing modern production equipment such as laser cutting machines, turret punch presses, and CNC bending machines, laying the foundation for intelligent manufacturing.
By the end of 2024: Factory construction will be completed, enabling an annual production capacity of 1,500 elevators. Products will include a diverse range of models such as escalators, moving walkways, passenger lifts, and freight elevators, filling the gap in elevator manufacturing in Yunnan Province.
April 24 – June 23, 2025: The project to establish a production line capable of manufacturing 1,500 elevators annually enters its commissioning phase, paving the way for official production.
June 8, 2025: The company held the grand opening and production launch ceremony for its Smart Center, marking the official start of operations for a state-of-the-art elevator production line capable of manufacturing 1,500 units annually. This milestone signifies the end of Yunnan's elevator industry's reliance on external manufacturers, while also unveiling the region's most technologically advanced elevator showroom—the South Asia Elevator Smart Center—in Southwest China.
